Personal Background

More than 29 years ago, I first became interested in the human body after I dislocated one of my shoulder joints playing football and was admitted to my local hospital to have two operations. I stayed very active in team sports (rugby, football, volleyball) and downhill skiing in the following years and, unfortunately, went on to experience knee and ankle ligament tears, broken bones, and a traumatic lower back injury. However, as a result of such injuries and operations, and having physiotherapy treatment myself, I now know what it feels like to be in the both patient’s and physiotherapist’s position.

Example Medico Legal Training

I hold the Cardiff University Bond Solon (CUBS) Expert Witness Civil Certificate. This certificate required completing expert witness training and assessment in civil law and procedure, report writing, courtroom skills, and cross-examination.

In addition, I have completed expert witness training including being a medico-legal expert from a Judge’s perspective, liability, causation, and quantum.

Other expert witness training for data control and processing has also been undertaken (e.g., General Data Protection Regulations for Expert Witnesses).

I am listed in the National Register of University Certificated Expert Witnesses as well as the Medico Legal Association of Chartered Physiotherapists (MLACP) and the National Expert Witness Agency (NEWA) experts’ directories.
